Infrastructure Management System
Infrastructure management systems all take
the same general form. Each type of infrastructure uses the generic
system and simply adds or removes components as they are needed. The
scale may also change. For example one system
may manage a single bridge in detail, while another will manage all
the bridges in a state. The general form is the same, no matter the
components, scale, or subject.
Basic Management System Structure:

The management system follows a simple procedure for each cycle. The
cycles are usually yearly, or in line with the budget cycle. Data is
fed from several sources into the database. The data is then
analyzed, using the given budget and chosen goals and optimization
routines, and results in the assignment of projects that best fit the
requirements of the system. Performing maintenance or repair leads to
different condition assessments for the objects affected. Then the
cycle begins again with a new budget cycle.

step in the system.
